Neurodiversity describes an individual whose brain functions differently from what is considered “normal”. Some examples are Mental Retardation with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Attention deficit – hyperactivity.
Manonandana Trust is a multi-disciplinary comprehensive rehabilitation centre for such neurodivergent children belonging to lower economic groups. The Trust was established in 1996 and is a registered non-profit organization.
We have touched over 1000+ children and families from the economically backward sections.
We are an 80G, 12 A and Registered Trust under Darpan and CSR1.
It was 25 years ago that our journey to make a positive difference to the lives of children with disabilities started. Founder Dr. Kusuma Bhat, a speech pathologist and an audiologist with 40+ years rich experience, who trained grassroots workers in comprehensive care of children with various disabilities, in rural areas of Bengaluru district, laid the foundation of Manonandana.
Our new centre was inaugurated recently at Panchavati, Chandapura. It was our dream to reach the outskirts of the city where we could make a positive difference to the underprivileged special children. An its has come true! This will serve areas around Chandapura , Anekal and surrounding areas.
India is home to 3 crore people with disability. Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in India face discrimination and marginalization every day. Inclusion in society needs lot more efforts through awareness and advocacy. Manonandana was established in 1996 and is a registered non-profit organization.

Parents’ counselling, guidance & training programme
This program for parents is as important as that of training for children. Training at home, will facilitate the child to improve faster and build confidence in the child and parents as well.
Celebration of festivals
The centre celebrates national and religious festivals every year – eg. Independence Day, Deepavali, Gowri – Ganesha, Ugadi etc.
Human Resource Augmentation
Manonandana has been a resource centre for graduate and postgraduate students since the year 2000. The students undergoing courses in B.Ed.
Assessment Kit
An assessment kit has been developed to assess the developmental level in various areas like speech, language, cognition, motor, social, and self-help skills.
