Vocational Training
It is important to create livelihood opportunities for children which is why we are starting our vocational training Centre in Bangalore. The special kids are trained to equip them to be able to do small tasks which can make them employable or enough to sustain themselves.
Economic Rehabilitation through Livelihood Creation for PwD:
The education for children with intellectual disabilities is more focused on development of vocational skills than development of intellectual skills. The goal is for those children to be able to live independently and have vocational skills to live in the community.
Some skills we plan to help children of 18 years of age to gain are:
Diya / Pottery Painting
Painting of mud diyas in colourful hues, which can be sold in local markets on various occasions is another vocational training we like to provide.
Cloth Bag / Foot rug making
With the ban on use of plastic bags and single use plastic, every household and corporate conferences and wedding venues are now using cloth bags. These easy to make for our special kids. Such simple tasks can easily be taught and picked up.
Cold pressed oil extraction
cold pressed oil extraction machine Repetitive processes are easy to learn and do for special kids. They can be trained, and market is already available for this healthy version of oil.
Chocolate making
This will be used for corporate gifting or at corporates to celebrate employee birthdays special occasions and local shops can be leveraged as well.
Creating Opportunities for Access to Markets Our sole intention is to increase opportunities for productive and gainful employment. We work towards creating access to market for them and proactively reach out for corporate gifting as well.
